Acronis backup data restore guide on VPS with cPanel
Once you have created and activated Backup Plans via the Acronis Backup Extension, you can restore the entire server or specific data (files, databases, mailboxes) at any time. All operations are performed directly from the WHM interface.
Accessing the Restore Environment
- Log in to WHM with root credentials.
- From the left-hand menu, select Acronis Backup.
- You’ll be redirected to the Acronis Backup Dashboard, where all available restore points are displayed.
Restore Steps
1. Select Restore Point
- The list will show all available backups with date and time.
- Select the restore point you want to use.
2. Choose Restore Type
- Full Server Restore: Restore the entire VPS.
- Account-Level Restore: Select the cPanel account you want to restore.
- File-Level Restore: Browse the file system and choose specific files or folders to restore.
- Database Restore: Select the database you want to restore.
- Mail Restore: Choose the mailboxes or individual emails to restore.
3. Choose Restore Destination
- Restore data to the original location (overwrite).
- Restore to an alternate folder/account for testing.
4. Run Restore
- Click Run Restore.
- Depending on the data volume, the process may take from a few minutes to several hours.
- You can monitor the progress directly within WHM.
